These pieces are not made to be thrown away when you move apartments or change décor.

They are heirloom pieces.

Meant to be cared for and cherished. It is my hope that they will one day be passed down to future generations, so that they too may wonder who before them has sat where they sat or held what they hold. So that when they have grown up and moved out, they can sit in the chair or at the table and they can remember the countless family memories that, like a patina, can only come with use.

Each piece is made by hand using tools, techniques, and traditions that have been passed down for centuries.

The hand made object, regardless of when it was made, holds a deep connection to the craftsmen and objects of yesterday. Objects are tactile in nature. They are meant to be touched and felt. When you run your hand over the material, feel the gentle curves and strong edges, delight in the subtle textures, you are right here right now. Our experience of these pieces happens in the current moment, and the design and care put into their making is done with a mind towards offering that experience.

My intention with everything that I make is to give those who interact with it a greater sense of connection with the past, present, and future.
